11. LeneOnline, all about the Norweigen Singer/Songwriter Lene Marlin.
Marlin made her Norwegian debut on 12 October 1998, with the single "Unforgivable Sinner", which proved to be a hit as it reached number one and kept that position for eight weeks. It was also the fastest selling single in Norwegian music history, and appeared in the soundtrack of the Norwegian movie Schpaaa. It was followed by her first album, Playing My Game. She won an MTV Europe award in 1999. Her single "Where I'm Headed", from the French film, Mauvaises fr?quentations, topped the charts in France and Italy. Her song "Sitting Down Here" became a top 5 hit in the UK singles chart in 2000.
Lene Marlin's second album, Another Day, was released on 22 September 2003, and her third, Lost In A Moment, in June 2005. The first single from that album, "How Would It Be," was released in Europe in May 2005.
Despite being less well-known in other parts of the world, Marlin made a trip to Taiwan and China during October 2005 to promote a Taiwanese version of Lost in a Moment. This included one bonus track, "Still Here", a cover of a song by a famous Chinese singer, Faye Wong. The visit proved to be successful; events held included a concert appearance hosted by MTV Taiwan, various television appearances, and a live street gig. Her record company claims that Lost in a Moment was their best selling western record of the year.
In 2006 she performed with Swiss band, Lovebugs on their single "Avalon", which made the Top 10 in the Swiss chart as well as topping the Swiss National Airplay Chart.
Marlin won four awards: Best Pop Solo Artist, Best Single ("Sitting Down Here"), Best Newcomer and the Artist Of The Year at the Norwegian equivalent to the Grammy awards 1999 (Spelleman), as well as the MTV Europe award for Best Nordic Act, presented in Dublin, Ireland in November 1999. She has co-written together with Stargate (producers for "Lost In A Moment") a song for Rihanna, entitled "Good Girl Gone Bad
The release of Lene Marlin's first single in four years has been hastened due to massive demand. Listen to a preview of Marlin's upcoming "You weren't there" single here.
The first taster from Lene Marlin's upcoming album "Another Day", the "You weren't there" single was originally scheduled for a radio-release on July 29 in Norway. It was intended to release the single earlier in France and Italy due to the upcoming holiday season that would preclude a radio playlisting until late August.
Due to massive demand from North-European media and fear that Internet piracy would lead to the single being spread before its intended release, Marlin's record company, EMI/Virgin Norway elected to hasten the release of "You weren't there" from the originally scheduled July 29 to July 21.
Lene Marlin's "Another Day" album is scheduled for release on September 22.

12. Memento was an Australian Hard Rock Band based out of the USA. Formed in 2001, Memento was comprised of Australian natives in vocalist/keyboardist Justin Stewart Cotta, guitarist Space, bassist Leighton Kearns and American drummer Steve Clark.
Memento is definitely one of the most compelling new bands of 2003, the album has heartfelt lyrics layered with thoughtful music that if promoted heavily to radio should tear up the currently humdrum alternative charts. The band Memento is made of people who were trained in a variety of genres from classical piano to jazz throughout thier development and you can hear the difference in this album. It clearly shows. One listen does not do it justice, it grows on you like a fungus. Now, straight from Ozzfest, Music Frisk brings you our interview with the band Memento...
Formed in 2001, Memento was comprised of Australian natives in vocalist/keyboardist Justin Stewart Cotta, guitarist Space, bassist Leighton Kearns and American drummer Steve Clark.
The band released their debut album Beginnings on February 25, 2003. Two singles were released from the album in "Nothing Sacred" and "Savior". Both tracks made a moderate impact on the US mainstream rock charts. Memento was also part of the 2003 Ozzfest tour, as a rotating second stage act.
Due to personal conflicts amongst band members, as well as record label issues, the band was dissolved in late 2004.
Cotta and Kearns re-emerged as "Man Vs Clock" in 2005. The project never achieved any notable success, and is no longer in existence.
In early 2006, Memento reformed with a new drummer, Jeff Bowders, under the name "Tower", which was later changed to "Ether". The band had been playing shows in the Los Angeles area, frequenting venues such as The Dragonfly.
It's unwritten rock law that every up-and-coming band must kick, scratch and claw its way to a record contract. But few groups have taken that mandate as literally as Los Angeles quartet Memento, who landed a major label deal after taking the stage at an L.A. club and refusing to give it back. Recalls singer Justin Stewart Cotta, "We were five songs into our set at the Dragonfly, when a heckler foolishly decided to climb on stage and stake a claim to the space that was rightfully ours at the time. So I threw one fairly solid punch to his chest, which sent him flying off the stage-which is fairly high-and flat on his ass." "Unfortunately, it didn't end there," muses drummer Steve Clark. "Within seconds, the guy's friends pounced on Justin, the set stopped and a full-out brawl ensued. It got pretty gnarly." But by bleeding for their art, the band unknowingly attracted the attention of a few record company execs, who were sitting ringside and taking in the action. "It turned out there were some important people in the crowd," laughs Justin, "and they loved the drama and the fact that we were willing to defend our territory without backing down. We signed with Columbia shortly afterward." Justin and Steve's first show of strength came months earlier, when the pair left the comfort and security of an already signed band-Elektra recording artists Vast-to start the process anew.

13. In the summer of 1996, Philip Gibbs found his sister's old three quarter sized nylon string guitar at the bottom of a hallway closet and started playing, continuing to do so every day since. After learning a few chords and then a few songs, soon Phil was writing songs of his own and playing them in coffee shops in his native Austin, Texas, starting in the now defunct Rio Grand Coffee Shop in the West Campus area of the University of Texas. Later, in the Spring of 1998, he boarded the S.S. Universe Explorer, a floating university that took him throughout South America, Africa and Asia.
Philip Gibbs was born and raised in Austin, Texas. He began playing and singing in his late teens in coffeehouses and bars around town and after college moved to New York where he continued playing music, recording his first self-produced disc called Digging in the Bottom of Mines, a country record with a Brooklyn combo. He then moved to Nashville to play for a year, before returning home to Austin in 2001. For four years, Philip worked odd jobs and played as much music as possible all over the state with various groups and duos and as a solo acoustic act. In 2001, he produced his own album, Another Place to Disappear, with his traveling band, The Rounders, which led to a more ambitious project in 2003, an album called Paper Crosses, produced by Stephen Doster. The rhythm section of this band had Will Sexton on bass, J.J. Johnson on drums and Philip Gibbs on acoustic guitar. Doster played a good deal of lead guitar as well.
Many months went into this project as many special guests were called in, including Ephraim Owens on trumpet, Stanley Smith of the Asylum Street Spankers on clarinet, Cole El-Saleh on piano, Erik Hokkanen on fiddle, Brian Standafer on cello, and engineer James Stevens helping out occasionally on background vocals along with Philip Gibbs, Doster and Sexton. This record was played on KGSR, KUT, KLBJ (where Philip Gibbs made half a dozen appearances on the Dudley and Bob Show) as well as other stations around the state, and led to booking many personal appearances for Philip Gibbs, including one television appearance on the local Austin affiliate of Fox. By late 2004, with hundreds of one-night gigs under his belt, Philip Gibbs began looking for new outlets, such as the theater, as well as painting. He wrote two songs, which he performed, and collaborated with Music Director Content Love Knowles on a good deal of the score. In the second act he played the Prince and the show was a hit. At this point Philip Gibbs had performed over a thousand times, and in 2005 he moved to New York again for about 10 months and played a good deal at places like the Bitter End, The Lakeside Lounge (owned and booked by Eric "Roscoe" Ambel, guitarist of Steve Earle's The Dukes) CBs Gallery and the Rockwood Music Hall, with folks like the Defibulators, James Thomas and a show with Stayton Bonner.

14. Rock and country Boston and Chicago-based independent Record Label.
Exactly how to start a Record Label is quickly becoming what many wanting to get piece of the music industry pie are looking to learn.
Hey, with the global music industry being a $48 billion dollar per year business, independent label production being a $12 billion per year industry, and many Record Label owners becoming the focal point of this money-making industry, if you can quickly and efficiently learn the ins-and-outs on how to start a Record Label you'll no doubt be tapping into a gold mind that grows by leaps and bounds every year.
Now, you have to have an honest view of what starting your own Record Label business entails: there is no overnight success in this field. This is because you stand to compete against major labels and other independent Record Label producers.
However, if you know what you must do to make this happen, in a step-by-step format, there's truly nothing that can stop you from reaching your goal, nothing but yourself.
Keep in mind that 99% of those wanting to get into this field simply have the desire, but they don't have the knowledge.
They just know the type of music genre they'd like to get into, etc., but they don't know the first step into physically making it happen.
Here are some questions, factors, and qualities you must have to start a Record Label:
Money To Start A Record Label:
Yes, this is the a big one, if not "the" big one. Make an estimate of what you would be selling and how much you would charge for it.
Ask yourself these questions:
*If you are going to employ outside artistes, how much are you going to pay them?
*After payment to them and estimated costs, what is it that you are going to make for each CD that you sell?
*Estimate these figures.
Type Of Business Your Record Label Will Be:
You must "incorporate" your business to cover yourself legally. You, you'd like to get right into the recruiting of musical talent, getting your name out, and start spitting out records to the market.
But before any of that can happen, you must be legally backed. You don't want your Record Label to take off, and then all of a sudden the government or some individual come knocking on your door serving you with some type of legal papers because you may have violated some type of law.
Cover yourself.
There are several forms of business that you can incorporate:
*sole proprietary
*partnership based (if you go with this type of incorporation all the terms and conditions of partnership should have been drafted as agreement stating the liabilities and responsibilities of each of the partner)
Then, you must go on and obtain a business license, which can very easily be done from the city or county business license office.
Other Factors To Consider To Start A Record Label:
*The distribution of the music itself.
*The managing of the recording.
*What name you're going to select to call the Record Label, and how to legalize that as well at Registrar of Deeds office in your state.
*The bookkeeping.

15. Fynyte - A Vermont Christian Band
Fynyte (pronounced "Finite") is a Christian rock band from the Barre Vermont area. They formed in January of 2002 as an independent band seeking to sow the seeds of Christ.
Fynyte is led by Adrian Otterman on guitars and lead vocals. He is the songwriter of the band and his lyrics bear out his struggle to exist in this world while simultaneously trying to live for God. Adrian began his music career in California, where he played bass in a secular rock band. When God called him to something more, he quit the band and recorded an independent album. Adrian spent two years as the worship leader at the Orange Alliance Church, in Orange, Vermont. He has recently stepped down from that position to focus on the work of God through Fynyte.
Fynyte's percussion / harmony vocals are provided by Jeff Blanchard. Jeff began drumming for jazz bands back in high school. He developed his harmony vocals while performing as one half of the Schmoll / Blanchard duo. They traveled throughout New England bringing the message of Christ's love others.
Fynyte's bass player is Chris Johnson. Chris's musical influences include 70's power bands such as the Allman Brothers and Rush. Chris is an electric guitar man by trade, but his musical training and knowledge have made for a seamless transition to the bass. His love for Christ has made for a seamless transition from the music of this world to the music of the next.
Fynyte's depth is a result of Amy Otterman's work on the keyboards. Amy is Adrian's sister and is a classically trained pianist with a degree in music from Messiah College. Amy completes Fynyte's sound with her delicate touch on songs like "Fade Away" or her dissonant power on edgier songs like "Pageant" and "Apathy". Her musical influences include Third Day and Caedmon's Call as well as Bach and Mozart.
Fynyte has been cutting their teeth with live shows in Vermont:
- June 2002: We organized, hosted, and performed in a concert to raise money for a missions trip to the Dominican Republic.
- July 2002: We performed at the Orange Heritage Day Festival.
- August 2002: We performed at the VT/NH Gideon Convention.
- September 2002: We closed out 11 hours of live music and ministry at the Fall Fellowship Festival in Burlington, Vt.
- November 2002: We wrapped up a three-band concert at a youth rally near Stowe.
- December 2002: We assembled and performed a traditional Christmas Eve service.
- February 2003: We made our debut television appearance on the local CBS station, WCAX (channel 3).
- April 2003: We competed in the Semi-Final round of the Playlist Productions "New Artist Search" in Nashville Tennessee.
- April 2003: We closed out "Crossroads IV", a Christian music concert at Middlebury College / Ferrisburgh.
Fynyte's goal is to sow the seeds of Christ through our music. The band has found the obvious - that the only time they can reach others is when an audience is listening. To that end, we have tried to develop music that attracts the largest audiences - young teenagers and their parents.
Fynyte has recently been labeled one of the best unsigned Christian bands in America by "Playlist Productions", a Nashville based record label. Fynyte's song, "We Want to Love You" is being added to an unsigned bands compilation album, to be released across America in the summer of 2003.

16. Publisher of editions of early and contemporary music for voices and instruments. Music Typesetting. Located in Albany, California.
Cotswold Music Typesetting produces publishable-quality printed music at very competitive rates. Graham Pike (sole proprietor) has nearly fifteen years experience of Music Typesetting and has supplied Faber Music and Queen's Temple Publications, amongst others.
Latest versions of Finale and Sibelius are used, so we can accept music in any format, be it manuscript or a computer file (including MIDI or MusicXML). Finished works can be supplied as hard copy, as PDF files, or as Finale or Sibelius files.
Since no two jobs are the same, it would be misleading to provide prices on this website (though it is not misleading to say that we offer pretty good value for money!). Please do e-mail, 'phone or write for further information.
Music notation software can be classified into the two overlapping categories of music scoring and Music Typesetting. Scoring software may be thought of as the composer's assistant, that is, the virtual music manuscript. A GUI usually is associated with software in this category, and it typically presents a graphic representation of a staff display and a palette or palettes of common music symbols. The interface may be controlled with the mouse; the computer keyboard; an external MIDI device, such as keyboard, MIDI guitar or wind controller; or any combination of those controls. In addition, it usually is possible to import a MIDI file for conversion to notation.
To work with music scoring software, the user first selects notation objects from a symbol palette and enters them onto a staff display. This often occurs with real-time audio as notes are placed on the staff. Playback usually is available whenever the user wishes to audition his work from any point in the score. When the notation is complete, it can be saved or exported in a variety of formats, such as PostScript and Adobe PDF, for printing; a MIDI file, for playing or editing in a MIDI sequencer; or MusicXML, for interchange with other notation programs. Linux music notation editors in this category include NoteEdit, MuseScore and the Rosegarden audio/MIDI sequencer.
Music Typesetting software prepares publication-quality music scores. The user writes a specification file that encodes the details of his score. The file then is processed by the typesetting program. Output usually occurs in a scalable graphics format that can be printed with common printing tools and a PostScript-compatible printer. Given a powerful enough typesetting specification language, every detail of a score's appearance can be defined as needed for perfectly readable and beautifully printed music.
Linux has inherited powerful text preparation software from its UNIX lineage, including the TeX and PostScript formatting and printing environments. These tools were designed to render high-quality displays to high-resolution plotters and printers. It did not take long for the necessary fonts, macros, symbols and other elements to be combined to form powerful Music Typesetting packages. In fact, TeX is a required component for some of the applications profiled in this article series.

17.Airstar is a loose creative collective built around three core members: Prod, Harv and Jules. Performing their songs as an acoustic trio, creating dream-like ambient textures with a full band line-up or operating in an electronic, loop-based format, Airstar's strength lies in the depth of their material, celebrating the wonder of the everyday with melodies to die for
UnseenForces is Airstar's debut release, a six-track acoustic mini-album, available on CD, which captures the spontaneity, intensity and intimacy conjured in the band's live performances.
Wheatley-based band Airstar have produced a mini-album packed with soaring harmonies and big choruses.
Airstar's demo is something quite amazing, opening with the title track 'Beautiful thing' which I have played consistently since receiving it.
If only the charts were full of more songs like this - it beams proud and uses electronics in a most mainstream and likeable way.
The tune resounds in my head and later I find myself singing it and thinking damn this song is really good, who is it again?!
Someday is another beautiful love song, the vocals are a little less forceful but they glide and soar.
The chorus isn't as anthemic as 'Beautiful thing' but it's not offensive and the ending makes up for it, with percussion which sounds similar to a baby's chime, making the lullaby sensation almost tangible.
Chromium, has insightful lyrics such as "we surround ourselves with precious things, to cover up our pain", but the music soon becomes a bit too repetitive.
I'm unsure of the inspiration behind the song but the lyrics and the big chorus - with its build up of guitar riffs, harmonies and grooves - give the listener everything Airstar initially promised.
In 1989, he released The Man With the Blue Post-Modern Fragmented Neo-Traditionalist Guitar. In a Rolling Stone interview that year, Bruce Springsteen cited Case as the songwriter he listened to most. A string of acclaimed albums has followed.
In between releasing his recent albums, Flying Saucer Blues (2000) and Beeline (2002), Case found time to curate a musical programme for the Getty Museum in Los Angeles and performed Beatles songs at the Hollywood Bowl with Sir George Martin. He also recently produced a Grammy-nominated tribute to his hero, Mississippi John Hurt, featuring Lucinda Williams, Beck, Gillian Welch, Steve Earle, Ben Harper and Taj Mahal. "I'm interested in roots, but I'm not interested in boundaries. I just try to put everything I love into the music," he explains.
Case will be joined by local band Airstar, who are set to delight the Delicatessen crowd once again with their keen sense of melody and exemplary songcraft in a performance marked by both intensity and intimacy.
The usual Delicatessen trappings and the special ambiance we've come to expect promise another memorable evening of food for the soul.
Airstar are a hidden treasure looking to be found.

Tin Pan Alley is a term that is synonymous with the American Music News publishing industry. But, is there actually a Tin Pan Alley, how did it get its name and why has it become a byword for the Music News industry?
In the late nineteenth century, 25,000 pianos were sold in the United States each year and, with over half a million youngsters learning to play the instrument, there was a huge demand for sheet music. Indeed the clamour was so huge that publishers rushed to enter the lucrative market. Before long, 1885 publishers were scattered throughout the large cities of the continental USA, but during the last 15 years of the century they all began to graduate towards New York as the city's prominence as the center for the production of the musical arts grew. It was here that publishers adopted new, aggressive business practices and marketing techniques to achieve phenomenal sales. The publishers tied talented and popular composers to exclusive contracts; they also conducted market research seeking out which style of music was currently the most popular. Then they would task their contract composers to produce works in that genre, thus immediately tapping into the lucrative market.
By the turn of the century many notable publishers had their offices on 28th Street between Broadway and 5th Avenue, and this is the area that became known as Tin Pan Alley. How it became to be known by that moniker is subject to a degree of urban legend, but the general consensus is that it is down to a visiting journalist by the name of Monroe Rosenfeld. He described the area as being drowned in a cacophony of noise emanating from the many producers' offices, sounding as though hundreds of people were bashing tin pans. He used it several times in his newspaper articles in the early twentieth century and the term stuck.
One of the earliest Tin Pan Alley success stories was the composition 'After the Ball', written by Charles Harris, which sold close to six millions copies of sheet music. Other well-known Tin Pan Alley compositions from the early 1900s include 'Give My Regards to Broadway', 'Shine on Harvey Moon' and 'Let Me Call you Sweetheart', to which most people can hum the melodies and even recite the words!

22. dating sites are plentiful and many have different things to offer. There are lots of dating sites that specialize on certain people and interests, and it can be fun meeting other people through dating sites worldwide that you might not ever have a chance to meet. There is something for everyone out there at dating sites and the amount of people looking for dating sites is colossal.
On our dating site, you'll find a community of people using dating site as a tool to make connections and find partners for dating, romance, friendship, and a variety of encounters.
It's more than a dating site - it is your best one-stop solution for finding romance, pen pals, new friends, activity partners or speed dating.
Speed dating is one of the fastest growing dating services. Speed dating has become a huge success worldwide with hundreds of single people making snap decisions about potential partners every night. Speed dating offers a chance for singles to meet many other single professional people in one speed dating event.
Speed dating is probably the most efficient way for singles to date. At our service speed dating is fun and easy – just play a game, or arrange a date using Make A Date feature.
When looking at dating site reviews there are a few common things that you will always find. Things such as monthly charges, number of members, services offered as well as how happy the members report to be. These are all great things to know and certainly should be taken into consideration when making your decision of which dating site to choose. These are, however, not the only factors that you should consider when deciding on a dating service.
There are other issues such as security, privacy and safety that must be considered. A good dating site review will have all of the factors that were mentioned above, but should also mention how safe your information will be once it is handed over to them.
When you sign up for a dating site, as expected, there are generally monthly charges for becoming a member. Now as with anything else there is a need to pay on a monthly basis and most of the dating sites require a credit card or Paypal account. While most people do not have tens of thousands of dollars in their Paypal account, the minimal amount that they have is their own and does not belong to a thief. A credit card on the other hand can have thousands of dollars of open credit and if it falls into the wrong hands can cause you a great headache. Since this information as well as personal information such as date of birth, address, and other financial details are quite often disclosed to dating services you need to make sure that they have a strict privacy policy in place.
Most legitimate dating sites have their policy posted on their website and typically refer the member to this page when they sign up. Before you sign up make sure that you review the privacy policy and also what security methods they have in place to ensure that your information is not hacked. If you cannot find the information on the signs you may look for a customer service number or other email contact that you can use to find out how they ensure your privacy.

26. The Online Dating phenomena is getting so popular now that there are Online Dating websites that advertise they have over a million people in their database. That's a lot of people. The Online Dating websites may be successfully fulfilling their job of matching up people or there are a lot of people that are looking for a date or relationship that cannot seem to find someone compatible.
There could also be too many of one sex and not enough of the other. It's also possible that too many are being so selective that even though there are a huge number of people in the database not enough people fit into those selective categories. Whatever the reason there are loads of people, millions of them scattered over large numbers of Online Dating websites databases all over the Internet.
How does one get noticed when there may be tens of thousands or more people as your competition? Good question! You have to post a nice appealing picture and a detailed and interesting profile that will make people want to contact you. It's also possible to run ads on some of the Online Dating websites.
The purpose of Online Dating websites is to provide those people looking for a date over the Internet using their service, a selection of possible matches that meet their search requirements. Both men and women can enjoy this service of finding a date. There are even websites which allow free surfing while most others ask for a small fee, in order for users to have an access to their databases. The databases hold all the information on all persons who have entered their information into the Online Dating website.
Whether they are free or paid Online Dating websites, the basic model is still the same. The users are required to enter their profiles. The profiles are placed in the server of the Online Dating websites you have joined as a member. All of the Online Dating websites have a great search program which can readily match profiles using the gender, age, interest and community of the users.
You can be a very desirable man or a beautiful woman in your actual life, but you can be unnoticed in Online Dating websites unless you know how to draw the attention of other people. You can only do this by having a catchy and appealing profile. It should say something about you, your passions, your interests, likes and hates. It should also say something about what you want in a date. Most people want to know positive things in advance.
For example you are a man. Try to let others know about yourself. Don't just educate them with your favorite sports because it will just bore them. In addition, do not write anything about sex. You can be at least a bit mysterious in order for you to get positive responses.
On the other hand, if you are a woman you can apply your wits to help you get noticed. Don't make any mistake regarding sex. It would only lead to the wrong type of mail.

27. The Tarot is the most practised art of divination in the world. The cards are sometimes called 'The Book of Divination of the Gypsies'. They have been used for hundreds of years to reveal hidden truths and to foresee the future of the person receiving the card reading.
Tarot cards have existed in one form or another since early medieval times. Most historians will tell you that Tarot decks first appeared in northern Italy sometime between 1410 and 1430, that they most likely began as extensions of the four-suit playing card decks already in existence, and that they were originally referred to as "carte da trionfi" or "triumph cards."
The oldest extant Tarot card decks, painted by mid-15th century artists, were probably commissioned by the Visconti-Sforza family which ruled Milan at the time. Almost from the beginning, and certainly by 1540, Tarot cards were being used to predict the future. Divination, however, may actually have preceded the invention of the Tarot; a book known as The Oracles of Francesco Marcolino da Forli spells out a simple system of divination utilizing the coin suit of common playing cards.
Although not everyone believes in the power of the Tarot, it has clearly established itself as one of the most popular (if not THE most popular) method of divination. Formerly conjuring up images of nomadic gypsies and dirty carnival booths, today's Tarot practitioners are mainstream business men and women with attractive storefronts, nifty websites, and in some cases highly profitable corporations employing hundreds of psychics. Tarot is big business.
But is Tarot a legitimate form of divination? Can it really be used to predict the future--or is it all just "entertainment" as most phone psychics are required to tell you when you call their hotlines.
In the Netherlands, at least, Tarot seems to be taken fairly seriously. In August of 2007, the Dutch government began funding Tarot card readings for the jobless. That's right, as part of the unemployment system you can get a free Tarot reading to help get you back on your feet. And they may be headed in the same direction in New York City which offers, among its institutions of higher learning, a Tarot school where anyone can enroll to earn a degree in Tarot card reading.
If you think it's just the poor, uneducated, and bored who go in for Tarot readings, think again. The rich, powerful, and well-educated are not immune to the lure of the Tarot. Christian Dior was reportedly in the habit of consulting the Tarot to determine the most opportune day to preview his collections, as well as the best time to sneak away for a little vacation. Ronald Reagan's tenure as President of the United States was haunted by whispers of Tarot cards being slipped into the White House through the back door. When Donald Regan, Reagan's chief of staff, wrote a book detailing his time in the White House, it confirmed these speculations, revealing that Nancy Reagan had an almost obsessive interest in astrology and, in fact, had been known to schedule some of the President's official activities based on input from Tarot cards.

33. Rob Cashman is a Hypnotist and a Hypnotherapist in New York. Rob Cashman is also a professional Speaker on Persuasion, Language Patterns and Cutting Edge Prospecting Techniques.
It was a good few years back that I last went to see a show like this, but I still remember some of the hilarious things some people were made to do, by the Hypnotist. Why people volunteer to go up on stage and make fools of themselves, beats me, but it is the things that those people do, that really fascinate me. I mean it is a family show and some areas are taboo, but even so, those people all do what is asked of them and seem to have no recollection of what they did. I remember they were made to "take a bath". They went through the motions of stripping off, getting into the bath, washing themselves, getting out again, drying themselves and then dressed themselves. I also remember a group of elderly women were told that they were young teenagers at a Beatles concert. Those old dolls screamed, shouted, jumped around and went totally berserk over the Fab Four. In real life they probably would not have been able to move around like young girls. Another show had a group of people believing they were Michael Jackson. Well, that was funny. Everyone was singing into imaginary mikes and doing the moon walk. Yet another group was led to believe they were top racing drivers. I can still picture them sitting on chairs and thinking they were driving. The vocal sounds of high revving engines, the changing of imaginary gears were very real to them. As a young boy, I went to watch the local Indian religious festival, in which some of them walk across hot beds of glowing coals, pierce large needles through their lips, cheeks, noses and other body parts. They seem to feel no pain and more surpising, is the fact that these wounds do not bleed. I saw 2 of these participants, in town, a couple of days later and they seemed none the worse for wear. I know a lady who was a chain smoker. She sought help from a Hypnotist and not only gave up smoking immediately, but developed an aversion for other smokers. She hated the smell, forbade smoking in her house and developed a form of nausea, when others smoked near her.
Now, without getting in to the religious, medical, or physcological arguments of these occurances, what do they all have in common? Some were hypnotised and unaware of their antics and some were in a self induced trance to prove their religious beliefs, but all were able to perform these acts through the power of the mind. By believing what they were told, they acted exactly what they believed. They really thought they were at a Beatles concert, or racing drivers, or Michael Jackson himself, or they believed they would not feel pain, or that smoking was terrible. They were not self conscious, or embarrassed.

35. Hypnosis, hypnotherapy, stress management and Spiritual Healing can be used alone or in any combination for almost any problem - and in particular for stress related problems such as panic attacts, phobias, low self esteem, shyness, pain and infertility. Let me show you how I can help.
Spiritual Healing is an important science that helps people to overcome problems that have their root cause in the spiritual realm. However unless the principles of this subtle science are understood and adhered to, spiritual healers can be negatively impacted by practicing Spiritual Healing. The most sustainable form of Spiritual Healing is enabling the person in trouble to begin and continue their spiritual practice.
1. What is Spiritual Healing?
Spiritual research done by Spiritual Science Research Foundation (SSRF) has shown that up to 80% of problems in our lives have their root in the spiritual dimension. Spiritual Healing as defined by SSRF is overcoming the spiritual root causes of problems by spiritual means.
2. Difference between symptoms displayed and the root cause
It is important to differentiate the symptoms displayed by a person and the basic root cause. We can better understand this by an example.
Let's say John throws a bucket of water on the floor in Jane's room when she is not there. He then hides himself to watch Jane's reaction on her return. When Jane enters the room she searches high and low for the cause but cannot find the reason for the water on the floor. She then goes on to wipe the floor. John lets out an evil chuckle under his breath at Jane's plight and ignorance about the root cause.
This is a typical analogy of how a spiritual reason such as an attack by a ghost (John) can cause a problem in life such as a heart condition (i.e. the water on the floor). Due to the fact that we do not have the sixth sense vision to see or perceive the ghost, our search for the cause of, for example, the chest pain remains limited only to the physical or psychological dimension.
3. What does Spiritual Healing heal?
We can now appreciate that in cases of heart disease resulting from a spiritual root cause, medical or surgical treatment can only alleviate the consequent damage done by the spiritual root cause. Thus by treating the heart condition by surgery or medicine, medical sciences can at best bring about a symptomatic cure. The condition however reoccurs as the root cause, for example, the ghost, is not taken care of.
Spiritual Healing is about diagnosis and removal of the spiritual root cause of the problem, that is, the ghost in the above example of heart disease. It could also be used for stopping a potential problem happening in the first place.
Though advanced Spiritual Healing remedies can also revert the physical damage done, in most cases it is advisable to use physical measures (treatment) to alleviate the physical damage (i.e. the water in our example above). This is because one would have to use a lot of spiritual energy to achieve what can be done with comparatively lower input at a physical level. This is considering that spiritual energy is invaluable and extremely difficult to acquire compared to any physical effort.

36. Arboricultural Contractors based in East London: Applying themselves to all aspects of Tree Work, with passion.
I am a Certified Arborist and I pride myself a little in that. Unfortunately, "Certified Arborist" means little if it is only a codeword for "salesman." The lion's share of Tree Work is accomplished by someone who is not a Certified Arborist and with no Certified Arborist on sight. One might argue that the the guy with the clipboard, "the arborist," has been doing some training with the "non arborists," and therefore they have a better product. This is hard to verify and, from what I have seen, generally not the case. They probably haven't been training at all. Having a Certified Arborist available while the job is being done is very important to the end result. It doesn't really matter if a company has Certified Arborists if they are not available to the customer.
A key point is whether the salesman/arborist speaks the same language as the non-arborists. The language barrier between English and Spanish speakers is a pretty high wall in some cases. I speak Spanish yet I have a hard time communicating technical details critical to safe Tree Work. I side with the Spanish speaking worker here because they are the ones who can be hurt if training is lacking. Make sure there will be someone on your job who speaks English in addition to any Spanish speaking workers.
There is much risk involved in picking up the phone book and calling the tree service with the biggest, most colorful ad. Many companies with strong ethics and customer satisfaction hardly advertise at all. You don't need to rule out the big ads, but make sure there are other criteria that go into choosing a tree service. Traditionally the Better Business Bureau has been a good resource for the consumer, however I am aware of one member tree service that currently has had 39 complaints in the last 36 months. Wow, that's service. Our company, Arboreal, has 0 complaints in the past 6 years.
There are a lot of other companies with the same good track record. As of this writing the best resource available to any consumer looking to hire a tree service is angieslist.com. Right now I believe it is temporarily free to join and it provides a wealth of information on local service providers from roofers to tree services to computer repair. You can't really outwit Angie's list if you are lacking in ethics. She will catch you and make you pay. Arboreal takes care of clients and angieslist.com keeps track of how well. The one and only drawback to Angieslist.com is that at some point she will also make the consumer pay. The $50 annual she may soon charge could save you thousands.

37. When it comes to Online Dating just as with the more traditional dating methods there are some points that you should remember if you want to get the best out of the experience, the first thing that you need to decide when joining a site is what it is you are actually looking for.
If you are looking for someone special, Online Dating is hard to miss. With databases of millions of singles of every description, Online Dating sites have a lot to offer. But with the increased opportunity, comes a new set of problems for hopeful singles searching.
Here are a few tips and some advice on using Online Dating services.
Your Online Expression Display
Usually when you sign up, you have to right your ad right away. Resist the temptation to quickly knock off a personal ad and description of yourself. Take your time to research what others are saying, and carefully craft your ad. Remember, your ad is all people are going to see, so it deserves all the attention you can give it. Count on spending a few days researching your ad, then a few more days writing and re-writing your ad.
Good attitude wins the game.
Most wonderful benefit of Online Dating is the amount of singles you have access to, but at the same all those same singles have more options than he/she can handle. Most folks make quick random slighted decisions whenever a unusually amount of hot singles are brought to their finger-tips. So beware of this strange and exotic atmosphere in the Online Dating game.
Keep a winners attitude. Taking anything personal can be damage to your self-image. However, I do not recommend Online Dating as a rebound method. If you are just divorce, let it sink a little bit first. Diving into the water with emotional spontaneity can break a spinal cord.
Be very picky, but not superficial.
Don't fall into trap of making quick decisions based on the nicest photo, even though a lot of online daters are making a habit of it. Actually read the profile and emails thoroughly to gain a vibe about a person. Try to determine if there may be chemistry.not just body chemistry either. You may be saying to yourself, Well, I'm a major Hottie and my choices are limitless. I do not have time to look within a person. If that is the case, you will definitely not have the time to develop and nourish a meaningful relationship. You'll just be stuck with quickies until you don't even have strength for that either. You will only meet that special partner by getting to know and loving the person, not just by worshiping and leaning on the flesh.
What do you really want?
Sometimes we think we want something, but in reality we are just longing for something else. Let this be the time for you to discover yourself, before you bond with another. You never really know what you want until you know who you are.
